The Polaris Advantage Technology Comparisons
WATCH VIDEO: WLS vs. A-GPS Accuracy Performance

The Polaris WLS Technology is based on the principle that every location has a unique radio frequency (RF) signature. Like a fingerprint's pattern of lines and swirls, a location can be identified by a unique set of values including measurements of neighbor cell signal strengths, time delay and other network parameters. Polaris capitalizes on this substantial suite of existing network measurement information to determine handset location to a high level of accuracy.

To deploy its products, Polaris Wireless relies on this network information as well as other field measurements to model the radio environment and create a database of predicted values. Using its proprietary statistical algorithms for pattern matching, Polaris Wireless optimally processes this data to accurately determine the location of any digital wireless handset.

We take a similar approach to location tag key network events so that operators can accurately determine and address the cause of excessive dropped calls and inferior network performance, as well as engineer the network for optimal traffic load balance.

The Polaris Wireless solutions work in conjunction with existing network infrastructure and Assisted GPS (A-GPS) solutions, giving the hybrid solution unparalleled accuracy and yield. The solutions are highly fault tolerant and can be configured for full redundancy to achieve more than 99.999 percent availability under all conditions. Polaris Wireless can determine location for every digital call placed on TDMA, GSM, UMTS and LTE networks with 100 percent location yield.
