Job Description:
Please note that this is a contract to hire position.
Responsibilities:
• Shall assess lab configurations and available test tools to develop nodal and system level test plans.
• Shall be responsible for configuring lab hardware equipment and test equipment.
• Shall be responsible for installing OS, applications and tool packages on lab hardware systems.
• Shall conduct the following testing on Polaris location systems:
1. System hardware burn-in testing
2. System performance
3. Load testing
4. Robustness testing
5. Software installation and rollback
6. End to End testing using standard test equipment
7. System integration test
• Shall interface closely with QA and Development teams to debug problems and test solutions.
• Shall be responsible for developing system level test report at the end of test cycles.
• Shall interface closely with the development groups, providing input on functionality and design, and assisting in functional testing.
• Shall work closely with the Operations group providing the first-line interface to engineering.
Qualifications:
• GSM, UMTS wireless telecom experience
• Knowledge of Lb, Lh, Lg and Iupc telecom interfaces.
• Experience testing in LINUX and Solaris environment.
• Experience in test script development using Catapult MGTS simulator and Tektronix Spectra2/INET.
• Demonstrated experience in system Integration testing and performance testing.
• Proven experience in QA life cycle, from test plan, test execution, to reporting bugs
• Knowledge of software development models and their impact to testing
• Strong Experience in networking, TCP/IP, Routing and SS7 and SIGTRAN
• Hands-on experience of wireless standards/protocols preferably GSM and/or UMTS at both network and Radio interface and/or exposure to RF network engineering
• Strong problem solving skills
• Good organizational and documentation skills
Required Skills & Experience:
• BS in EE/CE/CS
• 5 - 8 years of system/software QA/software development experience. (telecom experience preferred)
Highly Desirable:
o Wireless Technologies: Working knowledge of GSM, UMTS technology.
o Programming/Scripting: Knowledgeable in Shell, Unix, Linux
o Traffic Tools: Experienced with INET Spectra, Catapult MGTS
o Strong problem solving skills.
